Leggie- one year later

It has been over a year since Madeleine has had her leggie. I took this video of her at the zoo about a month ago. I find myself looking at it and studying it to see if I can really see a difference in the way she walks compared to her peers.

Dr. Mosca urged us to do the amputation early as she would learn to walk with her leggie from the get go. That she wouldn't have attachment to her biological foot and would come to see her prosthesis as an extension of her own body.

Damn, I believe he was right.

Niki you wouldn't even know that Madeleine had a magic leggie. It never fails to amaze me how well kids adjust to things. Way to go Madeleine!!!

Kristina, congrats on the arrival of Eli! I'm looking forward to 'getting to know' him. Hope your labor wasn't too laborious and that you are enjoying your babymoon.
